On March 6, LyondellBasell, one of the world's largest plastics, chemical and oil refining companies, signed a final cooperation agreement with Liaoning Bora Enterprise Group to establish a 50:50 joint venture to increase investment in the Chinese market

Based on the cooperation agreement, the two parties will establish a Sino-foreign joint venture - Polaris LyondellBasell Petrochemical Co.

"The Chinese market has a huge and growing demand for high-quality polyolefin products,

" said Bob Patel, President of LyondellBasell.

LyondellBasell will market the project's polypropylene and HDPE products using LyondellBasell's licensed Spheripol and Spherizone polypropylene technologies and Hostalen ACP polyethylene technologies, respectively

According to HIS Markit analysis, Asia is the world's largest and fastest growing polyolefin market

On September 5, 2019, LyondellBasell and Liaoning Bora Enterprise Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Panjin, Liaoning Province, and reached an agreement on joint venture cooperation

LyondellBasell will fund the project in the coming months
