Recently, Rakuten Chemical announced that the company has started the commercial production
of petrochemical products using recycled naphtha produced from waste plastic pyrolysis oil.
According to Rakuten Chemical, polycarbonate (PC) produced from recycled naphtha has excellent impact resistance, heat resistance, and transparency, and can be used in motors, electronics, home appliances, and automotive headlamps
.
In August this year, Rakuten Chemical received a supply of recycled naphtha from Hyundai Oil bank, and immediately started producing polycarbonate
through the naphtha decomposition equipment at the Yeosu plant.
The products produced will be available
to the market at the end of this month.
In July this year, seven synthetic resin products produced by Rakuten Chemical obtained international sustainability carbon certification
.
The company said it will expand the production and sales of recycled naphtha products in the future, while strengthening environmental, social and corporate governance management
