On October 18, Longbai Group Co.
, Ltd.
issued an announcement that its subsidiary Gansu Baililian Chemical Co.
, Ltd.
plans to invest 4 billion yuan to build a 400,000 tons/year synthetic rutile project
for the comprehensive utilization of sulfuric acid resources and chlor-alkali waste calcium carbide slag in Jinchang smelting.

The main construction content of the project is to build a new synthetic rutile and ferrous sulfate production line, which can absorb 1 million tons of chlor-alkali waste calcium carbide slag and 1.
5 million tons of smelting by-product sulfuric acid every year after completion, forming a production capacity
of 400,000 tons/year of synthetic rutile and 1 million tons/year of ferrous sulfate.

It is reported that the project can absorb excess chlor-alkali waste calcium carbide slag and smelting by-product sulfuric acid resources in Jinchang area, and realize the comprehensive utilization
of waste and by-product resources such as waste calcium carbide slag, smelting by-product sulfuric acid, and acid wastewater.
The construction of the project can solve the bottleneck of local waste and by-line resources and bring new economic growth points
to the local area.
