    Outline:Metabolic reprogramming is one of the hallmark events of tumors, through which cancer cells meet their own energy supply and unlimited proliferation
    .
    As one of the essential trace elements for life, iron is essential
    for a variety of biological processes including DNA synthesis and repair, cellular respiration, oxygen transport, lipid oxidation, signal transduction and other processes.
    Studies have shown that cancer cells increase intracellular iron ion concentrations to promote cell proliferation
    through a variety of mechanisms.
    Iron death, a form of cell death caused by iron-catalyzed peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids, is a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of drug-resistant tumors
    .
    As a novel regulatory element, long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is involved in regulating various cellular processes
    such as cell metabolism, proliferation, apoptosis, and iron death.
    In this review, we summarised the relationship between
    iron metabolism, iron death, and lncRNA in tumorigenesis.
    An in-depth discussion of the role of lncRNA in tumor iron death will provide new strategies and perspectives
    for jointly targeting lncRNA and iron death-related molecules in tumor treatment.
