    On October 17, Liberian President Weah established a Rice Stabilization Working Group, which is composed of the Ministries of Agriculture, Finance and Development Planning, Commerce and Industry, State and Justice, and also includes the Liberian Chamber of Commerce, the National Port Authority, the Japan Counterpart Value Fund Coordinator Steve Frann Pai and
    Weah's economic adviser Charles Bright, according to a public report on the official website of the Liberian Presidential Office on October 17.
     
    The Ministry of State and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning will chair and co-chair
    the working group, respectively.
    The working group is mandated to develop and implement measures to safeguard the supply of
    rice to the market.
