Recently, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development announced that the country is expected to build a natural gas chemical plant for methanol production in West Kazakhstan Oblast, with an estimated investment of 140 million US dollars and a capacity of 130,000 tons per year
.
The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan said that the Kazakh company Zhaik Petroleum
LTD has signed a project general contracting contract
with the Chinese side.
The project will create approximately 500 jobs during construction and assembly work, and 220 permanent jobs
once the facility becomes operational.
The plant is expected to start operations
by the end of 2024.
Subsequently, the project will enter the second phase, which is expected to cost $200 million to start the production of
ammonia and urea.
