Japan completes first living donor lung transplant for patients with new coronary pneumonia |
Kyoto University Hospital in Japan said on April 8th local time that a patient with new coronary pneumonia who had been treated for about 3 months had been transplanted with a lung provided by his family.
According to Kyoto University Hospital, the recipient of the lung transplant was a female patient living in Kansai.
The patient was transferred to Kyoto University Hospital on the 5th of this month due to an application for organ donation from his family.
