!---- The role of the combined thrombosis genotype in cancer-related venous thromboembolism (VTE) has rarely been studied, researchers used a population-based case queue to explore the effects of a five-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) score on the risk of VTE in cancer patients, according to a study published recently in journal Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, an authoritative journal of thrombosis and clotting diseasesfirst VTE cases (n-1493) and subpopulations (n-13072) came from the Troms study (1994-2012) and the Nord-Tr?ndelag health study (1995-2008)researchers genetically typed five previously reported risk-scoring SNPs: ABO (rs8176719), F5 (rs6025), F2 (rs1799963), FGG (rs2066865) and F11 (rs2036914)estimated the risk ratio of VTE (HRs) based on the cancer status and the number of risk alleles (0-1, 2-3, and 4 alleles) in the 5-SNP score1,496 people were diagnosed with cancer in an average of 12.3 years of follow-up, 232 of whom experienced VTEin subjects with and without cancer, the risk of VTE increased with the number of risk alleles in the 5-SNP scorein cancer-free subjects, the HR of the risk alleles of s4 and 0-1 was 2.17 (95% CI was 1.79-2.62)in cancer patients, the corresponding HR was 1.93 (95% CI was 1.28-2.91)The risk of getting VTE from a combination ofcancer and the 4 risk alleles was 17 times as high as the cancer-free subjects with 0-1 (17.1 HR, 95% CI 12.5-23.4)thus, in subjects with or without cancer, the risk of VTE increases with the number of alleles at risk of thrombosis, and the risk of thrombosis combined with cancer increases the risk of VTE.
