    The American barn owl provides a natural way for land managers and agricultural operators to control rat infestations, as this bird of prey feeds


    There are usually five or six chicks in a nest box, and they eat as many as four or five rodents


    According to research from the University of California, Davis, the best time of year to clear nest boxes to prepare them for breeding offspring is september through November
