DSM acquires Amyris

Biological intermediates business

DSM (DSM) today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Amyris' fragrance and flavor (F&F)-based biointermediates business, which expands DSM's products into aromatic ingredients and bio-based ingredients
for the fragrance and cosmetics industries.

DSM will acquire a business that currently consists of seven intermediate products, of which four have already generated significant sales and EBITDA, two have just been launched and one is in development, which will be added to DSM's
existing Personal Care and Aroma Ingredients businesses.
DSM will acquire the business for an upfront consideration of $150 million, which is equivalent to 15 times
its 2021 EV/EBITDA.
The R&D partnership between DSM and Amyris will continue after the acquisition is completed
