The Ministry of Science and Technology recently released news that the "863" Plan Bulk Industrial Solid Waste Comprehensive Treatment and Resource Key Technology Major Project Office organized experts from Peking University, University of Science and Technology Beijing and Wuhan University to conduct on-site inspections
of the separation and extraction of calcium and magnesium components of steel slag and the preparation technology of nano calcium carbonate undertaken by the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The expert group believes that this technology realizes the selective leaching of the active components of steel slag, determines the optimization of process technical parameters, and the quality of the prepared calcium carbonate products meets the industrial fine precipitation calcium carbonate industry standard, and the process technology innovation is strong, and has good promotion and application prospects
.
According to reports, the National Engineering Laboratory of Hydrometallurgical Clean Production of the Institute of Process Engineering has long carried out research on industrial solid waste carbonation fixed CO2 technology, and has made important progress in steel slag enhanced carbonation multi-generation technology and phosphogypsum pressurized carbonation co-production ammonium sulfate technology, and these two technologies have entered the industrial pilot test and engineering demonstration stage
respectively.
China is the country with the largest amount of by-product phosphogypsum in the world, emitting about 50 million tons of phosphogypsum every year, and growing
at an average annual growth rate of 15%.
At present, the utilization rate of phosphogypsum in China is only about 20%, and the unused phosphogypsum has an impact on
the environment.
At present, the resource utilization of phosphogypsum is the best way
to cure phosphogypsum pollution.
