On December 17, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) officially announced that six substances were included in the list of
substances of very high concern (SVHC).
These substances include cadmium fluoride and cadmium sulfate, selected for carcinogenic, mutagenic, reproductive toxicity and equivalent concerns that may have serious effects on human health, especially on the kidneys and bones; UV-328 and UV-320 because they are PBT (persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic) and vPvB (highly persistent, bioaccumulative substances); DOTE, as well as DOTE and MOTE reactants, were selected for reproductive toxicity
.
In addition, ECHA said that the EU Member State Commission has agreed that di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is endocrine disrupting, and since DEHP is already present on the SVHC list, ECHA will update the entry on DEHP in the list to add the description
that SVHC should be added to the SVHC list as an endocrine disrupting substance.
