Mitsui and Hong Seng will jointly build a nitrile latex production plant

Mitsui Corporation and Malaysia's Hong Seng Group have signed a letter of intent to jointly build and operate a nitrile latex production plant and related tank facilities in Malaysia for the storage of raw materials
such as butadiene and acrylonitrile.

It is reported that Mitsui will provide supply chain management services for raw materials for the proposed nitrile latex plant and plans to fund the tank farm, with intention to support
other potential businesses related to the project.
Malaysia is the world's largest exporter of
nitrile gloves.
Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, a number of companies have built new nitrile rubber plants
in Malaysia.
