Avery Dennison recently launched two bio-based polyethylene (PE) film label products
at Label Asia 2015.
These new products are the first pressure-sensitive PE film labels with more than 80% renewable material content in the facewood, allowing brand owners to achieve their renewable packaging goals while continuing to enjoy the functionality and performance
of conventional polyethylene labels.
Bio-based PE pressure-sensitive label films are available in white and clear versions
.
The resin used is made from Bonsucro-certified sugar cane and meets strict social and environmental monitoring standards
.
The performance and recyclability of both new products are comparable
to standard PE85 resin.
With the right precautions and preparations, these films can be used as a drop-in alternative, allowing label converters to replace traditional PE with bio-based PE
label films without the need to purchase new machinery.
