of low-sulfur MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether) production.
By the end of November, Baling Petrochemical's new deep desulfurization unit for MTBE products has been running smoothly for half a year, producing more than 24,000 tons of low-sulfur MTBE products, with a yield of more than 99.

The MTBE plant of this division has an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons, and the sulfur content is generally 30~100 micrograms/gram, which is mainly used as a blending component oil
for gasoline in vehicles.
In recent years, with the improvement of vehicle gasoline standards, its sulfur content restrictions have become more and more stringent, and MTBE quality upgrade is imminent

Since the second half of 2012, the scientific research team of the division has systematically studied the production mechanism and distribution characteristics of carbon four raw materials and sulfides contained in MTBE, conducted targeted small-scale test studies, obtained mature conclusions and improved relevant data, completed the preparation of the process package and feasibility study report in April 2013 in cooperation with the design, completed the construction drawing design of the project and started construction in October of the same year, and in early May this year, the MTBE unit

The operation of the device shows that the deep desulfurization process technology independently developed by the division distillation method to remove MTBE enriched sulfur-containing components is mature and reliable, no new pollution sources are added, the emissions of major pollutants meet the relevant national emission requirements, and the sulfur content in the products is greatly reduced

As a result, the business department obtained the market access certificate of low-sulfur environmental protection MTBE, and the profit of low-sulfur MTBE products has increased significantly compared with that before desulfurization, and the effect was more than 7 million yuan
