The US Environmental Protection Agency of California recently announced that it intends to add glyphosate to the list of
known carcinogens.
The California EPA believes glyphosate is harmful to human health and has been linked to
a sharp decline in king butterfly populations.
In addition, the above proposed list includes three pesticides that have been shown to be potentially carcinogenic, namely insecticide, parathion and malathion.
California is taking important steps to protect people and wildlife from this toxic substance
.
Dr.
Nathan Donley, a scientist at the Center for Biological Diversity, said more than 250 million pounds of glyphosate are used in the United States each year, which is a threat
to people's health and many wildlife.
For a long time, the United States has also been controlling the uncontrolled use
of glyphosate.
