At Wire China in Shanghai, Solvay Specialty Polymers showcased many of the latest technological achievements
in the field of cables and cables.
At the exhibition, Solvay highlighted its high-performance polysulfone (PSU) foam grade Udel?Hexae P-1703 NT, which provides low halogen content and low smoke emission performance materials
for wire and cable applications.
Udel?P-1703NT polysulfone resin has low density (1.
24) and high foaming rate (50% to 60%), thus offering significant cost advantages
over competing products such as polyperfluoroethylene propylene (FEP).
At the same time, the high foaming rate also makes the material have a low capacitance (1.
8 to 2), which can meet the manufacturing needs
of wire and cable without the need for major changes to the existing structure.
Solvay Specialty Polymers also introduces Cogegum® GFR 380, a new grade of Cogegum® crosslinkable flame retardant (HFFR) compounds for the Asian cable jacketing market, which can be used in cable jacketing processes
in the railway, marine, industrial and oil and gas industries.
The new Cogegum® GFR 380 offers superior flexibility and exceptional flame retardant properties
compared to comparable silane-grafted halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) materials.
