EuroChem intends to acquire the nitrogen business of Borealis
Recently, Borealis said that it has received a binding offer from EuroChem to acquire Borealis' nitrogen business (including fertilizers and melamine) for 455 million euros (about 3.
3 billion yuan).
As one of Europe's largest fertilizer producers, EuroChem has important manufacturing plants in Russia, Belgium, Kazakhstan and Lithuania, employs more than 27,000 people in 40 countries and produces products in more than 100 countries, and is currently expanding its production and distribution capabilities
in key regions around the world.
Borealis operates fertilizer production plants
in the centers of important crop producing areas in Austria and France.
With more than 50 distribution points in Europe, the network
supplies around 4 million tons of products (including about 150,000 tons of melamine) annually to Western, Central and South-Eastern Europe via Borealis LAT distribution.
The transaction, which will significantly strengthen EuroChem's nitrogen business in Europe, increase production assets in Austria, Germany and France, and increase the use of Danube's integrated sales and distribution network, is expected to close
in the second half of 2022.
