Recently, the EU issued a circular to the WTO Secretariat (G/TBT/N/EU/294) to amend the Annex XVII Cadmium
of the European Parliament and Council REACH Regulation.
The amendments contain cadmium-containing paints, and it is proposed to expand the current restrictions on the use of certain cadmium-containing paints to restrict the marketing of such paints, and propose a cadmium-containing limit of 0.
01%
for such paints.

The EU is one of China's important export markets, and the products designed by the cadmium regulatory upgrade are mainly paints, affecting several consumer goods industries
such as furniture and household appliances.
