Issue 27, 2015 - Breakthrough in the research of graphene rubber nanocomposites at Sichuan University

A few days ago, it was reported from the Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province that Sichuan University has made a new breakthrough in the field of graphene rubber nanocomposites, and successfully prepared rubber nanocomposites
containing uniformly dispersed graphene and graphene isolation networks.

Relying on the platform of the National International Joint Research Center for Polymer Materials and Engineering, Sichuan University has established an international cooperation project with Italian research institutions in the research of graphene composite materials, and established a new technology for the preparation and processing of polymer/graphene composites in view of the technical problems such as graphene being difficult to disperse in the polymer matrix and the difficulty of large-scale preparation of polymer graphene composites, and proposed new methods for ultrasonic exfoliation, latex mixing and in-situ reduction.

The project has been authorized one Chinese invention patent, and signed a patent licensing and transfer agreement with Chengdu Chuangwei New Materials Co.
