BASF's Chimassorb® light stabilizer has been listed as a standard solution
for thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membrane by waterproofing material researchers from the China Academy of Building Materials Sciences.

TPO roofing membrane can be used as an alternative to asphalt membrane, which is laid on a flat roof to protect the building from damage caused by the impact of heavy rain

However, like all polymers, TPOs degrade prematurely when exposed to UV radiation and high temperatures, with small cracks that reduce wind resistance
