Recently, Shanghai Huayi Fine Chemical Co.

completed the "Key Technology Development and Industrial Application Project of Resins and Additives for Waterborne Industrial Coatings" and won the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award
in 2014.
It is reported that the waterborne aircraft interior coatings developed by this technology are in line with Boeing's BMS10-83 specifications and have been used in domestic aircraft interiors, becoming the only domestic waterborne aircraft interior coating supplier, breaking the monopoly
of large foreign companies in this field.
It is understood that the project was identified in the award as a major innovation in key technologies, technical difficulty, the overall technical level and main technical and economic indicators have reached the domestic leading level of similar technical products, have market competitiveness, the achievements have been transformed, created greater economic benefits, and have positive significance
for the technological progress and industrial optimization and upgrading of the industry.
In order to reduce environmental pollution and protect the earth on which human beings depend, countries around the world have become more and more stringent requirements for VOC emissions in coatings, and a series of restrictions
have been formulated with laws and regulations.
China has also imposed a consumption tax
on coatings with VOC content higher than 420 g/l (inclusive) since February this year.
At present, the industrial coatings used in petroleum, chemical, automobile, shipbuilding, metallurgy, electric power, machinery manufacturing and other fields are all solvent-based coatings, with an annual volatile amount of organic solvents of 4 million tons and a waste of about 40 billion yuan
.
To this end, the key technology development and industrial application projects of resins and additives for waterborne industrial coatings play a significant and positive role
in protecting the global environment, saving limited human resources, and leading the green development of coatings.
It is reported that the project has applied for a total of 25 invention patents, of which 13 invention patents have been authorized; He has published 36 papers and has been cited 60 times
by others at home and abroad.
The waterborne series of coatings developed by this technology have been applied
in important enterprises such as Baosteel, XD Group, CIMC Group, and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group.
The key technical products formed by this project have produced more than 8,500 tons so far, with sales of more than 112 million yuan, with fruitful results, and at the same time effectively improve the scientific and technological content of domestic coatings and effectively promote the development
of national coatings.
