Chemours and the University of Delaware build a clean hydrogen center
Chemours recently announced the establishment of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership (CHP) with the University of Delaware and unveiled
the Clean Hydrogen Center.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership is an innovative public-private partnership between Chemours, the University of Delaware, Plug Corporation, and the U.
S.
Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to address the challenge
of producing clean hydrogen at low cost and efficiently converting hydrogen to energy.
Located at the University of Delaware, the Clean Hydrogen Center will focus on discovering innovative materials, stack design, and improved manufacturing processes, as well as in-depth research
on how to reduce the cost of green hydrogen and fuel cells.
The research results will be tested
at the Clean Hydrogen Center.
As the first research facility of its kind, the Clean Hydrogen Center is able to conduct real-world testing of new components at scale, which will accelerate the adoption of new materials, which in turn is expected to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen by 80%, or $
1 per kilogram, within a decade.
