"Intelligent Molecule" High Temperature Technology
Improves Automotive Engine Performance
Solvay (Solvay) recently launched a new high temperature resistant polyamide 66 (PA66) material containing "intelligent molecule" self-reinforcing technology, Technyl REDx
.
The innovative material is based on the advantages of Solvay's polymers' high-temperature technology, enabling automakers to overcome the limitations
of the significant increase in temperature and pressure during engine size reduction.
The company has developed Technyl® REDx smart molecular materials with patented self-reinforcing technology in polymer chains without affecting the material's structure
.
This new technology remains inactive when injection molding automotive parts, and the high flow of the material is comparable to PA66
.
During the use of the car, the high temperature activates these smart technologies, creating rapid crosslinks that make the mechanical properties of the product far beyond the initial level
.
Technyl?REDx can be processed and formed at an energy-saving mold temperature of 100°C, with simple production process and low
cost.
The aging test of more than 3000 hours at 220°C showed that its excellent retention and tensile properties were improved by more than 50% without breakage
