The European Union has issued new regulations on the import of cosmetics
Recently, the European Commission issued the Official Journal (EU) No358/2014, amending Annex II of the European Cosmetics Regulation No 1223/2009, adding five parabens to the list of restricted substances
: isopropylparaben, isobutylparaben, benzylparaben, phenyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, and pentyl p-paraben.
In addition, the amendment also stipulates that the maximum concentration of dichlorophenoxychlorophenol in mouthwash is 0.
2%, and the maximum concentration of other cosmetics such as toothpaste, hand soap, body soap, deodorant, and flour is 0.
3%.
The maximum concentration of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and its salts and esters as monoesters in cosmetics is 0.
4%, and the maximum allowable concentration for use as mixed esters in cosmetics is 0.
8%.
Until October 30, 2014, cosmetics that do not comply with the new EU regulations can still be sold on the market, and from June 30, 2015, cosmetics circulating in all EU markets must comply with the new regulations
