PTFE membrane contributes high-concentration ammonia nitrogen wastewater treatment Recently, the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) hollow fiber membrane contactor technology developed by the research team of Cao Yiming of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has been successfully applied to the high-concentration ammonia nitrogen removal treatment
project
in vanadium extraction wastewater.
This technology provides a mass transfer interface by a hydrophobic porous membrane, and the ammonia nitrogen wastewater and absorbent (such as dilute acid, etc.
) after alkali conditioning flow through both sides of the membrane, and the ammonia in the sewage will be absorbed by the dilute acid, so that the ammonia nitrogen value in the wastewater will be reduced to the discharge standard
.
The results of 120 hours of on-site operation show that the ammonia nitrogen concentration in the effluent is stable at 2~7mg/L, which meets the requirements
of vanadium industry pollution discharge standard (10mg/L) and sewage discharge national standard level 1A (8mg/L).
Due to the excellent hydrophobicity and anti-fouling properties of PTFE membrane materials, and the use of inexpensive lime instead of liquid alkali to adjust the pH in the process, the operating cost
is greatly reduced.
The system has the advantages of low energy consumption, high ammonia removal efficiency, low operating cost, compact device, small footprint, simple operation, etc.
, and is the first industrial case
in the world to apply PTFE hollow fiber membrane contactor technology in the field of vanadium extraction and high ammonia nitrogen wastewater treatment.
