Duckweed fermentation to produce fuel ethanol is patented
A method developed by duckweed fermentation to produce fuel ethanol developed by the Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has recently obtained a national invention patent
.
Duckweed is a raw material with great potential for fuel ethanol production, but duckweed is directly used for fermentation, which has problems such as low ethanol concentration, low fermentation efficiency and poor raw material utilization rate after
fermentation.
Aiming at the shortcomings of duckweed fermentation, researchers in the institute invented a method for duckweed fermentation to produce fuel ethanol, which produces ethanol by rapid fermentation after simple pretreatment of duckweed, improves ethanol concentration and fermentation efficiency, and reduces production costs
.
The fermentation of duckweed after pretreatment can reach an ethanol concentration of 3.
17% (w/w), which is 33.
2% higher than that before pretreatment, which has obvious advantages
over the pretreatment process of lignocellulosic fuel ethanol.
