Recently, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Nippon Paper Corporation announced that they have jointly developed a circular packaging material
made of biodegradable materials.
Two renewable raw materials are made of this material: BioPBS, a Mitsubishi chemically biodegradable resin, and SHIELDPLUS, a paper barrier raw material
for Nippon Paper Company.
Among them, BioPBS can be degraded into water and carbon dioxide under the action of natural microorganisms, which can reduce the impact
on the natural environment.
Compared with other biodegradable resins, the material has excellent properties
such as low-temperature heat sealing, heat resistance, and flexibility.
Mitsubishi Chemical said that the packaging material developed this time is made of renewable raw materials, is biodegradable, is a circular product, and also has good barrier and heat sealing
.
