Recently, Xu Guobao's research group at the State Key Laboratory of Electroanalytical Chemistry at the Chunying Institute of Chinese Sciences has made new progress
in micro/nano research.
They first reported the synthesis of highly homogeneous m-aminophenol-formaldehyde resin polymer spheres and carbon spheres
by a simple template-free method.
On this basis, a simple and rapid synthesis method
of high-quality m-aminophenol-formaldehyde resin coated ferric oxide nanoparticle composite spheres was developed.
M-aminophenol-formaldehyde resin has good thermal stability, and the corresponding carbon-coated iron tetroxide nanoparticle composite spheres
are obtained after carbonization.
The surface of the prepared magnetic composite nanospheres is rich in active groups such as amino groups, which are easy to further functionalize, which is of great significance for promoting the application of
magnetic nanomaterials.
It is understood that micro/nanospheres have a wide range of applications
in the fields of analytical chemistry, drug delivery, biomedical, colloidal catalysis and photonic crystals.
However, at present, the preparation of colloidal spheres of uniform size requires the help of synthesis methods such as templates or surfactants, and there are disadvantages such as complex process routes
.
