The calcium carbide PVC carbon reduction project was supported
Recently, the XPCC Science and Technology Bureau organized and held an expert review and evaluation meeting for major science and technology projects, and the key technology development and demonstration project of calcium carbide polyvinyl chloride (PVC) carbon dioxide emission reduction and comprehensive utilization undertaken by Xinjiang Tianye was approved, and 3 million yuan
was supported by the XPCC's financial science and technology funds.
The project will focus on the research of carbon dioxide and calcium-based waste residue generated in the production process of calcium carbide polyvinyl chloride, explore a new way of high-value comprehensive utilization of waste gas and waste residue, break through the key technology of the whole set of industrial demonstration equipment, and form an industrial demonstration device
for carbon dioxide waste gas and calcium-based waste residue reduction in calcium carbide polyvinyl chloride industry with independent intellectual property rights.
The implementation of the project can reduce carbon dioxide by 10,000 tons per year, reduce calcium-based waste residue by more than 13,000 tons, and achieve a profit of more than 10 million yuan, which will fundamentally solve the problem of large carbon dioxide emissions of calcium carbide polyvinyl chloride carbon dioxide emissions and high-value utilization of calcium-based waste residue in China, and achieve carbon dioxide emission reduction
at low cost with a circular economy development model.
