Iran's Mapna Group Company has reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Public Power Generation Company to build a 540-megawatt combined cycle power plant
in the Syrian port city of Latakia.
The MoU was signed
by the managing director of PEEG and the managing director of the MAPNA Group during a meeting between Iran's energy minister and the Syrian president in the capital, Tehran.
According to the MoU, the €411 million project will begin implementation
in early 2019.
The plant's first gas unit is expected to be completed within 15 months, and the second within two years
