Iran’s “Financial Tribune” reported on November 26 that an official of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture stated that the country will import more than 1 million tons of rice in the current fiscal year (March 21, 2021 to March 20, 2022)

As of November 13, 660,000 tons of rice have been imported, and an import order of 438,000 tons has been signed a few days ago
.
It is estimated that Iran’s domestic rice demand is about 320 tons per year.
This year, the country’s production of rice is about 220 tons, and the import of about 1 million tons can meet local demand
