At the same time, Hubei, Zhejiang, Fujian and other places also held provincial institutional reform mobilization meetings, announcing the establishment of the Department of Ecological Environment.

Hainan Province and Guangdong Province have assigned the marine environmental protection responsibilities of the Provincial Ocean and Fisheries Department to the Department of Ecology and Environment respectively;
Hubei Province assigns the environmental protection responsibilities of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project area of the Provincial South-to-North Water Diversion Administration to the Department of Ecology and Environment;
In addition to the responsibility of marine environmental protection, Jiangsu Province will also take the responsibility of the Taihu Office of Jiangsu Province.
Fujian Province assigns the Department of Ecology and Environment the responsibility of marine environment and fishery water ecological protection of the Provincial Department of Oceans and Fisheries.
