Sinochem News recently, INEOS announced that the company has completed a US$70 million capacity expansion and renovation project for its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Merak, Indonesia

The investment will reduce the plant's carbon dioxide emissions by 15 percent, the report said

In January 2021, INEOS acquired the Merak PTA plant as part of the $5 billion acquisition of BP's petrochemicals business
