On November 27, local time, an explosion occurred at a chemical plant 2 in Port Neches, Jefferson County, Texas in the early hours of the morning, causing 3 people to be injured.
Allegedly, the petrochemical plant was about 85 miles (135 kilometers) away from Houston.
Owned by Texas Petrochemical Corporation (TPC).
The plant produces butadiene (a combustible gas used in the production of synthetic rubber) and other petrochemical products such as butane.
