From SeafoodMedia on May 23, as of mid-May, the price of Penaeus vannamei (raw shrimp) in Indonesia's East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and Aceh has droppe.

East Java 30 (size) head shrimp and 40 (size) head shrimp prices fell to IDR 93,000 (about $32) and 88,000 (about $98) per kilo; 60 (size) head shrimp prices fell to 73,000 IDR (about $96); 80 (size) head shrimp and 100 (size) head shrimp prices fell to IDR 65,000 (about $41) and IDR 54,000 (about $67) per ki.

Penaeus vannamei, also known as white-leg shrimp, can grow up to 23 cm, and their habitat is up to 236 feet deep in the oce.
The main producers of this type of shrimp are mostly developing countries in Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam , the Philippines, e.
