According to a newsreport on the Indonesian government portal on April 23, 2022, the Indonesian government has decided to temporarily ban the export of edible oil and its raw materials .
The prohibition policy was decided by Indonesian President Jokowi at a cabinet meeting on April 22, 2022, mainly because the domestic supply of edible oil in Indonesia is insufficient and it is difficult to meet the basic needs of the people .
Indonesian President Jokowi publicly stated through a government media account: "I have decided that the government will ban the export of edible oil and edible oil raw materials from Thursday, April 28, 2022, (the ban will take effect) until the deadline is to be determined
.
"
The export ban may include premium prepackaged edible oils, bulk edible oils, oleins and refined, drift, deodorized palm oil (RBDPO)
.
Crude palm oil (CPO) is not included
.
The government's export ban will prevent the outflow of edible oil products and their raw materials, only for domestic supply needs
.
