According to the website of the Ministry of Religion's Halal Product Assurance Bureau, Aqil Irham, director of the Halal Product Assurance Bureau, said at a conference on the halal industry that the government's goal is to make Indonesia the world 's number one in halal food and beverages

Indonesian Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin also attended the event and released the 2022 Global Islamic Economy Status Report, which showed that Indonesia currently ranks second in the halal food and beverage category, and the Islamic economy (ekonomi syariah) Indonesia ranks fourth in the field of developme.
"Our goal is for Indonesia to become the world's number one in halal food and beverages by 2023, which is in line with the Indonesian President's policy of becoming a global hub for the halal food and beverage industry by 2024," Aqil sa.
To achieve this goal, the Halal Food Assurance Agency has launched a free halal certification scheme (“SEHATI” scheme for small businesses), and plans to issue halal certification for 10 million products by the end of this ye.
