According to the news of the public early warning section of the Food and Drug Administration website on October 4, 2022, the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) reported and explained
the seizure of illegal sales of vitamin products on e-commerce platforms.
Nur Iskandarsyah, a law enforcement officer at the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration, said at a press conference held on October 4, 2022: According to the regulatory results, it was found that there was an illegal circulation of vitamin C, vitamin D3 and vitamin E, and the illegal sales of e-commerce platforms or online sales were even worse

Such illegally marketed vitamin products pose a significant threat to public health, as product safety, quality and efficacy cannot be guaranteed

Between October 2021 and August 2022, BPOM seized 19,703 illegal online sales of vitamin products, none of which applied to BPOM for registration for circulation licenses

BPOM follows up on the investigation results of illegal vitamin products in accordance with the Provisions on the Supervision of Food and Drug Online Sales, and recommends that consumers calmly purchase products that have obtained circulation licenses, and should pay attention to checking the packaging, labels, circulation licenses and shelf life
before purchasing products.
