Agrochemicals Chinese website reports: Indigo Ag is a company that uses nature and technology to advance agricultural economics and the environment
    .
Recently, the company announced its industry's first microbial -based Kosakonia cowanii) is registered, further enhancing its industry-leading biological seed treatment capabilities .
Demonstration trials of the EPA -approved proprietary bio-biotri nsic ™ product designed to inhibit plant disease will begin this crop season and are expected to hit the market in 2023 .
This milestone product makes Indigo's product portfolio one of the few in the industry that can help farmers address biotic and abiotic stresses .

Eric Bartels, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Biologics at Indigo Ag, said: “The discovery and registration process for this new biofungicide took only three years, which we believe is the fastest in the industry
    .
A market leader in nature-based crop stress solutions
    .
Based on all of our products and development goals, Indigo provides farmers with a powerful discovery platform, using nature to provide them with increasingly unpredictable extreme environmental conditions Profitable advantage
    .
This milestone is the latest example of how nature-based technologies can complement farmers’ existing production systems in new ways, increasing crop productivity and resilience
    .

Inspired by the human microbiome, Indigo's biotrinsic seed treatment products reintroduce beneficial microorganisms that naturally exist around or within plant tissues
    .
These microbes enhance the plant's natural defenses to protect itself from common stresses
    .
Indigo researchers and scientific partners have studied more than 36,000 microbial strains (one of the largest and most diverse repositories of microbial endogenous strains in the world)
    .
Through rigorous procedures, they identified those strains that improved performance under severe stress conditions such as drought, nematode and disease stress, and in nutrient-deficient soils in different regions and crop types, and identified superior strains in laboratory and large-scale experiments.
Extensive experiments were conducted under real-world conditions
    .
The most successful strains were then commercialized and added to Indigo's comprehensive seed treatment portfolio to help farmers increase yields
    .

The biofungicide launched this time comes from Kosako isolated from the seeds of a historic corn landracenia cowanii unique strain
    .
This microorganism colonizes the root surface and inhibits phytopathogens including Fusarium, Pythium and Rhizoctonia through a variety of mechanisms, thereby stimulating the plant's natural defense system
    .
The test found that the product has a direct, obvious and stable improvement on key indicators of plant health including root weight and overall emergence
    .
The product is registered for use in cereals, corn, soybeans, cotton, legumes and oil crops and is currently undergoing large-scale field demonstration trials as part of the biotrinsic Beta Fields program
    .
The program provides farmers and agro retailers with free early access to some of the latest biotechnologies that improve crop resilience
    .
Several formulations of the fungicide are expected to be available at select agricultural retailers across the country as early as next year
