    India's NTPC issued tender for 1.2GW solar projects

    Recently, India's state-run utility NTPC has issued a tender
    for a 1.
    2GW solar project to the National Grid (ISTS) through NTPC power plants in the western region.

    It is understood that the open category projects will be based on construction, ownership and operation (BOO), and the deadline for receiving technical bids is December 19
    , 2018.

    India's tender campaign has recently encountered significant hurdles, such as the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) 10GW solar/3GW manufacturing tender being delayed several times as it tries to redesign the tender parameters to make them more attractive
    to developers.
    Most concerningly, it raised the cap price of electricity for its hybrid wind and solar projects to Rs 2.
    70/kWh, while the price of electricity for manufacturing-related projects was raised to Rs 2.

    According to consultancy Bridge to India, the Indian PV industry has been grappling with the depreciation of the Indian rupee and now faces significant financing challenges

    The power giant also recently issued large floating solar and hybrid tenders
