India's Ministry of Finance issued an announcement on Monday announcing the removal of a 20% tariff on rice exports to Nepal, but the annual export quota to Nepal is up to 600,000 tons,
The Republic newspaper reported on November 2.

Since September 9 this year, India has imposed a 20% export tariff on all rice varieties except basmati and parboiled rice, triggering an increase in rice prices in
    the Nepalese market.
Following the Indian government's restrictive measures, Nepal has been demanding that India lift export bans and tariffs
    on rice, sugar and wheat.

    Nepal imported 550,000 tons
of rice from India last fiscal year.
