India has launched a countervailing duty investigation into stainless steel pipe imports from China and Vietnam

According to the official report of India, India has begun to investigate
the subsidized production and export of welded stainless steel pipes imported from China and Vietnam.

The Directorate-General for Trade Remedies, which is part of the Ministry of Trade, said there was "prima facie evidence" that subsidies would harm domestic industries
.

"The authorities found evidence of subsidies in the People's Republic of China and Vietnam for the production and export of subject goods, and that such subsidized imports cause substantial damage
to domestic industries through their quantity and price impact," Indian officials said.
