In September this year, Vietnam's tuna exports to the EU market increased by 33% year-on-year

From The Fish Site on November 4, Vietnam's tuna exports to the EU in September this year amounted to US$31 million, an increase of 33% year-on-year, which pushed the total tuna exports in the third quarter to more than US$46 million, an increase of 47%
over the same period in 2021.

In the first nine months of this year, tuna exports to the EU totaled more than $123 million, up 16%
year-on-year.

Vietnam's tuna products, which enjoy tariff advantages under the EVFTA agreement, are more competitive
than countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia or Thailand.

Italy, once one of Vietnam's top three export markets for tuna, fell 70 percent to seventh place this year
.
Spain, one of the top three export markets, also experienced declines, while Germany and Belgium saw significant growth during this period, with exports to Belgium in particular increasing by 111%
over the same period.

Vietnam's tuna exports to some other EU markets also grew strongly over the same period, such as 102% increase in exports to Romania, 155% increase in exports to France and 305%
increase in exports to Denmark.
