Among them, the UK added 1764 MW in 2019 and Germany added 1111 MW, making them the two largest offshore wind markets
in Europe.
Chairman Alastair Dutton, Head of the GWEC Offshore Wind Working Group, commented, "Offshore wind installations in 2019 were driven by established market leaders, and over the next few years we will see more and more countries and regions establish offshore wind industries and expand into new markets
in Europe, the US and Asia Pacific.

He added that these emerging markets will need the right policy framework so that the world can expand offshore wind construction
beyond 2030.
