Spanish power company Iberdrola plans to invest $1.
3 billion in five new power plants that will supply electricity to private companies

Enrique Alba, CEO of Iberdrola Mexico, explained that the new facilities include two combined heat and power plants, two wind farms and a combined cycle power plant, which will be built this year and 2020, respectively, to meet the growing demand for manufacturing and industry in the country
.
The investment is part of Iberdrola's plan to invest a total of
$5 billion in Mexico over the next six years.
"Mexico is a growing market and we see an important potential," Alba said
at the signing of the agreement with Concamin.
The president of the federation said that the agreement with Iberdrola aims to solve the problem of power outages affecting parts of the country, such as those in the Yucatan Peninsula
