Huntsman opens new polyurethane systems company in Dubai

On September 10, Huntsman announced the opening of a new polyurethane portfolio business in Dub.

The new combined business includes a production area equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, mixers, reactors, gas stations, control rooms, offices and quality control laboratori.

The facility will also serve as a regional hub for Huntsman's Demilec spray polyurethane foam (SPF) busine.

Tony Hankins, president of Huntsman Polyurethanes, said: "This investment is our latest move to expand our global portfolio business capacity, which is the foundation of our downstream growth strate.

Steen Weien Hansen, Regional Vice President, Europe, Africa, Middle East and India further commented: “In the context of a 90% urbanization rate, the population is growing rapid.

Huntsman's other downstream businesses in the Middle East include Huntsman EMA, a combined business in Turkey, and Huntsman Arabian Polyols, a joint venture with BCI Group in Saudi Arabia, of which Huntsman is a major sharehold.
