Today, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued two reports that provide recommendations for the editing of the human genome, with the aim of making it a better tool for public health
The WHO pointed out that since the birth of human genome editing technology, it has brought more faster and more accurate diagnoses, more targeted therapies, and more methods to prevent genetic diseases
But human genome editing also comes with corresponding risks
To this end, the WHO report today recommends nine different situations, including registration of human genome editing, international research, medical travel, and education on related technologies
