China Petrochemical News Network reported in March, Guangzhou Petrochemical, together with Yuetong Research Institute, Guangdong Telecom, and Guangdong Jiateng, carried out a two-week study on the application of unmanned automatic handling in warehousing operations, and the test was successful on March 19.

The technologies used in the test of unmanned automatic handling and intelligent warehousing operations mainly include 5G private network, 5G indoor distribution system, AGV (unmanned automatic vehicle) + 5G module, and integrated Guangzhou Petrochemical warehouse management system.

The business scenario of this test is the shipping business.

As a large-scale refining and chemical enterprise of 10 million tons, Guangzhou Petrochemical purchases a large variety of materials and large quantities.

After the introduction of AGV in this test, the "goods to people" picking mode replaces the traditional "people looking for goods".

In the next step, Guangzhou Petrochemical plans to build a demonstration model warehouse for unmanned automatic handling smart storage in a test warehouse with an area of about 1,600 square meters and a dedicated 5G network.
