Iron (Fe) is an essential element for the growth of plants and other organisms.

On September 20, 2021, the Gong Jiming research group of the Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences published a research paper entitled Two NPF transporters mediate iron long-distance transport and homeostasis in Arabidopsis on Plant communication , reporting on the nitrate transporter family (NRT1/PTR Family) NPF5.

Researcher Gong Jiming from the Center for Excellence in Molecular Plants of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the corresponding author, and PhD student Chen Siying is the first author
